Bird watching at Lake Sorbulaq

This morning professor Nurtazin, Jewgeni, Azim and me meet early in Almaty, because we want to go to the Sorbulaq Lake, which is a nice bird watching site. It's only 70 km from Almaty, so we arrive around 9 at the lake. Immediately Jewgeni and me pounce on bird watching.

The Sorbulaq Lake



On the opposite shore are thousands of pelicans.



Because here the lake also struggles with water shortage,
some fish where caught by birds and dryed on the shore.

Jewgeni is collecting insects as feed for his bird pets.



Of corse the praying mantis (Gottesanbeterin) we set free again.

In the afternoon we are back in Almaty.
