Trekking to the Kel-Tor Lake in Kyrgyzstan

The hike to the Kel-Tor Lake at an altitude of about 2700 m is not far from Bishkek and really nice to escape from the city for one day.
This morning we start our day trip in front of the Trekking Union office, who organizes lots of nice hiking trips all over Kyrgyzstan.

With two mini busses we go to the northern Tien Shan.






Sophie and me already made a new friend, Dima.






We walk all along the river inbetween the mountains.

Now it's getting steep!

We reached the Kel-Tor Lake



The view of the lake is just fabulous!
The turquoise water with the surrounding mountain is unique.



As we are still feeling hot from the ascent,
Sophie and me are brave enough to jump into the 7°C cold water.



After two minutes I can't feel my toes and legs don't obey ...

We are back at the heigth of the parking.

In the next days I meet lots of international people in Bishkek with a nice view over the city by night.
