The Menengai Crater is a massive volcano with one of the biggest calderas in the world. It is the largest volcano caldera in Kenya and the second largest volcano caldera in Africa.
Reaching the entrance to the Menengai Crater.
I'm happy to go hiking inside the crater now.

In the shade of the crater cliff, we are having a lunch break.
Now we are at the deepest point inside the Menengai Crater.
Waiting ...
Starting to climb up again.
The caldera floor is covered with numerous post caldera lava flows.
The way up is very steep and we have to take many breaks.
Volcanic activity continues and is used for geothermal power generation.
"Yeah! I've done it!"
Now, it's time for a rest.
We have to wait for the others anyway.
We all finished the stiff climb.
We were down there in 485 m depth.

After the visit of the Menengai Crater, we continue our round trip and drive to the next accomodation close to Lake Bogoria.
