German representatives at CBD COP 11

Today the German youth delegation has a meeting with representatives from the German party and NGOs.
After the dinner party yesterday, we are sleeping in this morning. At 10 a.m. we meet for breakfast and Isabel notice first that we are in the newspaper again. The Times of India berichten about our press conference yesterday, where Svana presented the dodo costume for the negative award in the end of the COP.

At the conference center I join the negotiations about marine and coastal biodiversity.

After this session our German youth delegation visits the side event Young People for Biodiversity Condervation from an Indian school.

At 2 p.m. we attend the meeting of the German representatives of the government and NGOs. We introduce ourselves and right away we feel adopted and integrated. Nicola Breier gives the statement, that resource mobilisation is not the most important item for the German delegation. It is also necessary to be representative on the side events.

We are joining!

Svana and I participate the Biodiversity and climate change negotiations. It is really interesting to follow the statements. Brazil wants to change almost the whole text. Afterwards Svana and I have a short break outside. Then we try to find the location of the next side event we want to go to.

At 8 p.m. we are meeting for our daily GYBN get-together in the Women Caucus room. First we all tell how we feel. Then Chantal from the Executive Secretariat comes by and tells us how we attain to give our intervention. Moreover she said, that we could get "Youth"-badges instead of "Observer"-badges. Afterwards we divide into working groups about the items we participated for the negotiation today. Also we talk about, how we will go on after the two weeks of COP.

Finally we take the shuttle back to the hotel and fall into bed all tired.
But tomorrow we will be active again!
